Santa Barbara Co-op

Hi and welcome to the webpage for the Santa Barbara Green Living Co-op!  We are excited about starting up a Green Living Co-op in the Santa Barbara area, and we will be building membership, developing workshop and educational opportunities, and training instructors over the next year.

To Join: Membership in the WMG Santa Barbara Co-op and participation in workshops is free. Please fill out the online application to join. Once signed up, you will receive a bulletin, usually every week,  announcing upcoming Co-op volunteer opportunities to earn hours, special events, and other member benefits such as subsidies and discounts.

For More Information: Visit our Co-op Details page or contact Barbara Wishingrad, Santa Barbara Green Living Co-op, PO Box 22506, Santa Barbara, CA 93121, bwishingrad@watershedmg.org or 805-403-4566.

Host a Workshop as part of the Green Living Co-op!

The Santa Barbara Green Living Co-op is seeking hosts for future workshops. We are presently focusing on earthworks and laundry to landscape greywater systems.

Workshop hosts pay for materials and the workshop instructor's time, which may include a site assessment, design plan, preparation of the site for the workshop, buying materials, facilitating volunteers during the actual four-five hour workshop, and follow up. Workshop instructors on the average put in fifteen hours in the process of holding a workshop.

As a Co-op member, you get a reduced rate on this fee. This applies once you have put in 16 hours of volunteer time for the Co-op, or if you work at least 16 hours in the six months following hosting a workshop.

Thanks to Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North who provided grant funding for a tool shed for the Co-op

The Green Living Co-op has received a $500 grant from Rotary Club of Santa Barbara North to purchase a storage shed for our tools and other materials. We are looking for a used shed, perferably 10' x 10', in excellent condition, that we can use for this purpose. If you have a shed or a lead for us, please contact Barbara Wishingrad at bwishingrad@watershedmg.org or 805-403-4566.  Thanks!
