Getting Down(town) on Earth Day

Join us for our Earth Day celebration at the Phoenix Public Market on April 16. The Public Market is located at 14 E. Pierce St., Phoenix, AZ and events will take place from 8:00 am to noon.

This event is a celebration of the integration of Watershed Management Group with Arizona Homegrown Solutions. Activities will be led by former AZHS project managers and WMG staff.

Events Schedule:

  • Seed Swap ~ 8am-noon ~ FREE - but bring seeds if you have them to share
  • Solar Oven Demonstration ~ 8am to noon ~ FREE
    See how simple these ovens are to use, all powered by the rays of the sun.
  • Green Streets Information Booth and Presentations ~ 8am to noon ~FREE
    Learn how to beautify and cool your neighborhood streets, calm traffic, and conserve water.
  • Rain Barrel Building Workshop ~ 8:00 and 10:00 am ~ $35 parts fee
    Pre-registration is required - limited to 16 participants.  Email lindsay@watershedmg.org if you would like to receive a low-income subsidy and have the parts fee waived.  

 

  • Seed Ball Workshop ~ 8:30 and 10:30 am ~ FREE 
    What are seed balls? Discover a new way to spread seeds and protect them on their journey.

This Get Down(town) Earth Day event will be concurrent with the Open Air Market, a large farmers' market
with live music, local arts and crafts, and more than 90 vendors.
