Water More Precious Than Gold: Irrigating with Greywater

An average household's laundry water produces enough greywater to support a fruit tree, like a pomegranite or fig. Discover how to use a laundry-to-landscape system to recycle greywater for use in your yard to nourish plants and reduce your potable water usage. You'll see examples of greywater systems for bathtubs, showers, handwashing sinks, and laundry machines. Create a plan to irrigate with greywater!

Objectives:

  • Identify greywater sources and best use
  • Acknowledge requirements for greywater use in Arizona
  • Plan a simple, low-cost greywater system
  • Observe for maintenance needs and enhancements

This class is offered in partnership with Watershed Management Group, Arizona Water Company, and Gold Canyon Community Inc and sponsors Salt River Project and Central Arizona Project.
